Austrian Infantrie Regt 11 - Wagram, 1809

Regiment of the Day

Today we look at the utterly mediocre Austrian Infantrie Regt Nr 11, 1st Divsion, I Corps ... who timidly collected their pay checks whilst they sat around doing as little as possible.

5 bases of line infantry, including command stand. Figures by warrior miniatures.

Pink facings make this unit stand out from the crowd in a swarm of white uniforms.

IR 11 taking up an all round defensive position in a farmyard, on the outskirts of the town.

You may notice here that the drum has the body decorated in regimental facing colours as well ... not a regulation in the Austrian army as far as I know, but I like to paint mine that way.

Quite a large regiment as regiments go - this entire Division in fact is stacked with large regiments of solid and experienced line troops like this one. Quite a formidable force !

Huzzah !  And Merry Xmas to all !!

  1. Love the outrageous facing color, and the clever description of the units fighting capacity! :-)

    Have a very Merry Christmas!
