Prussian Army 1813 - New Recruits
Regiment of the Day
Early next year - probably around March 2013 at this stage, I am running a reasonably massive convention / public demo game of "The Battle of the Nations" - Leipzig 1813.
Running at 1:60 scale in 15mm .... so at best we can probably look at fielding around a Corps+ for each of the armies involved (Russia / Prussia / Austria / Other Allied ) ... with at least 1 opposing French Corps on each table as well. Should be massive !
For the Prussians, I am going to concentrate on Kleist's Corps for starters.
On to the miniatures then - here are this week's recruits for Kliest's Corps :
2nd West Prussian - 1st Battalion.
Each battalion sized unit is anything from 3 bases for some of the more understrength units (such as the Russians and some French) to 6 bases for the larger battalions (some Austrian units for example).
The Prussians are mostly 4 base battalions (12 figs).

Figure Modification - Austrian Charlies Legion
Tip of the Day
Today I had a small opportunity to modify some figures for my Austrian Charles Legion battalions, as part of I Corps at Wagram.
A simple mod with greenstuff, and hopefully pretty effective.
As you may know, my 15mm Austrians are all from the warrior miniatures range, which includes 3 basic types of uniforms - Shako, Helmet, and Corsehut.
What to do with the Charles Legion then ?

Fusiliers von Pelet, Jena 1806
Regiment of the Day
More 18mm Saxons from Eureka. Today we have the Light Infantry Brigade from the Saxon Advanced Guard Division at Jena, 1806.
Light infantry is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the Prussian army during the 1806 campaign.
However, the Saxon forces which fought at Jena, contained a high proportion of light troops compared to the Prussians. Especially in the Advanced Guard Division, we find 3 'regiments' (at Battalion strength) brigaded to form a large brigade of light troops.
Specialist sharp shooters, the Saxon light infantry were the equal of the French in the theory of light infantry. However, their small numbers and their lack of real experience separated them dramatically from the French.
So today, we have my interpretation of a brigade of mixed Saxon light infantry battalions at Jena, 1806

Advanced Guard Division - Blucher, Jena Auerstadt 1806
Corps of the Day
Today we have the Advanced Guard Division, of the Northern (Prussian) Army at Jena Auerstadt.
A Large Division with a lot of hitting power, effectively a small Corps in this case.

Russian Jaegers
Regiment of the Day
Russian Jaegers, 1805-1811.
Since there are so many small Jaeger regiments spread around throughout the Russian OOB's of this period, I am only going to post a generic unit here.
Uniform details and figure variety dont really change much from one battle to the other or one regiment to the other.
Here then, for your viewing pleasure, is my interpretation of a 15mm Russian Jaeger regiment, plus skirmisher stands ... for use with Republique.
