Brigade Von Oswald, Jena Auerstadt 1806

Regiment of the Day

Today we have the Brigade Von Oswald, part of the advanced guard of the Northern (Prussian) army under Blucher.

Brigade Von Oswald grouped together some 2500 fusiliers into a single unit. This is a fairly rare example of a large formation of light infantry in Prussian service prior to the post-1806 reforms.
Von Oswald's fusiliers hail from the Waschau (Warsaw) region .. and were quite an effective force on the battlefield. However, their numbers were too few on the day. to be a decisive factor.

Figures by AB (18mm). Great variety of poses brings these figures to life. Its hard to do a bad paint job on ABs as well.

4 bases of light infantry - with 4 skirmish markers. Unusual to have massed skirmishers for Prussian units of this period, but this unit is a rare case where the best light troops were grouped together to form part of the advanced guard.
